From truckers to first responders, several sectors are feeling the effects of the vaccine mandates. The rift is leading to concerns that public safety is being put at risk. According to first responders, morale is so low in Florida’s Orange County due to the vaccine mandate that it’s compromising public safety. And for many truckers, the mandate could be the final trigger. Some say they'd rather quit than get the vaccine, and others are pro-vaccine but anti-mandate. Many feel pressured by their employers and believe it should be a choice. With the way the supply chain crisis currently stands, Joe Sculley, president of Motor Transport Association of Connecticut, says “drivers have leverage.” That’s because getting new drivers isn’t easy; there’s a training process that takes time.

For the first time, National Guardsmen are sent to the southern border to arrest illegal immigrants for trespassing. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is deploying around 3,000 National Guard members to the border in the coming weeks. The guard members will work with Texas Department of Public Safety officers. They will only arrest single adult men who trespass onto some 142 parcels of private ranch lands to get into Texas. They will not arrest adult women, family groups, or unaccompanied minors.
