The next stimulus checks are on the way. About 90 million payments have been disbursed so far. And the IRS is extending the tax deadline by a month. IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig said in a statement the deadline will be automatically extended by a month. The new deadline is now May 17.

Spearheaded by Texas and Montana, 21 states are suing President Joe Biden over the Keystone XL pipeline cancellation. Head of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas faced questions on Capitol Hill. He was grilled on the Biden administration’s immigration policy. He defended the Biden administration’s handling of the border situation, asserting that the border is secure and that they inherited a broken system. He also confirmed the United States is on pace to encounter more illegal immigrants crossing the border than any year in the past two decades.
