A deck collapse at a home in Cherryville, North Carolina, left 18 people injured--3 of whom were hospitalized, according to reports.

The collapse took place during the welcome home party for a soldier, reported WBTV-3.

Most of those who were injured suffered minor injuries, according to the Cherryville Fire Department. Firefighters helped four people who were trapped in the rubble left by the collapsed deck, which was around 20 years old.

The deck was around 10 to 12 feet off the ground.

It comes just two weeks after a deck collapsed at a sports bar in Miami, which left two dozen people injured, including some critically, reported WSVN. The deck collapsed while patrons were watching the Miami Heat play the San Antonio Spurs during the NBA Finals.
