Decade Target of 1.5 Million More Ontario Homes Unlikely, Say Experts

An Ontario task force that called for 1.5 million houses to be built in the province in the next ten years is on the right track but unlikely to hit its targets, say real estate experts.

The task force was headed by Jake Lawrence, CEO and Group Head of Global Banking and Markets at Scotiabank. Its report, released Feb. 8, had 55 recommendations to double the annual number of homes currently built, and maintain that level for ten years.
