DeAndre Jordan utterly posterized Detroit Pistons’ player Brandon Knight on Sunday night.
With the Los Angeles Clippers leading Detroit by 19 in the second quarter, Chris Paul lobbed the ball up to Jordan, who maintained control and extended his reach over the 6’3 Knight, slamming it home. The Clippers ultimately crushed the Pistons 129-97.
LeBron James, who might be entering the NBA dunk contest later this year, tweeted: “DeAndre Jordan!!!! Dayyyuummmm!! Dunk of the year.”
And other Twitter users questioned Knight for jumping the way of Jordan as he was bearing down on him.
“Why jump B. Knight?!” asked Harrison Barnes on Twitter.
After the game, Jordan said he had not seen footage of the play.
“I haven’t seen it yet, but by the reaction, I’m guessing it was pretty good. Just my teammate’s reactions. Just seeing them look at me like they saw a ghost behind me,” he said, according to the Chicago Tribune.
And Paul said, “That was pretty crazy. All I have in my memory bank is that pass and the aftermath. That was pretty impressive. I usually try not to react to those, but that was pretty good. Me and DJ were trying to set that play up for three to four possessions.”
