DeAndre ‘Dre’ Tatum Dead; Fourth Victim of SXSW Crash in Austin, TX

DeAndre Tatum has died in the hospital after getting injured in the South By Southwest crash in Austin, Texas several weeks ago. 

Jamie West, Steven Craenmehr, and Sandy Thuy Le were also killed, while more than a dozen others were injured.

Tatum, 18, had just graduated from Trimble Tech High School in 2013.

Curtisha Davis, 19, suffered critical injuries in the crash, including broken bones and a neck injury, but was released from the hospital on March 18.

Rashad Charjuan Owens has been charged with capital murder in the crash.

Davis, a cheerleader at Trimble Tech, said via Twitter: “Rip to My love im really goin threw it. Im stuck n lost of words.”

Two other students from the high school were injured in the crash, reported the Star Telegram
 
Tatum’s mother said that her son was hit so hard that he was knocked out of his shoes.
 
She said that doctors had put him in a medically induced coma while a friend told CBS that Tatum had swelling in his brain.
 
Family friend Lawrence Anthony said that Tatum was “a real good kid” who stayed out of trouble and had two jobs.
