Eight-year-old Relisha Tenau Rudd has gone missing in southeast Washington, D.C. on Thursday, prompting police to issue an Amber Alert.
Two vehicles that police were looking for in connection to a homicide in Oxon Hill, Maryland were found at the scene of the crime. Rudd is connected to the homicide but is not the victim.
Officials told WJLA that the victim is an adult female.
The fiance of Rudd’s mother reported the girl missing after she failed to appear at school for a month. The girl’s father said that she had been released into the custody of another person while the mother was in the hospital.
Rudd may be traveling in a white 1976 GMC truck with Maryland tags 305015, and may be traveling with Kahlil Malik Tatum and Rickie Sheridan Lyles, authorities said.
She was last seen on February 26, reported NBC.
Rudd is described as standing 4’0″ and weighing 70 to 80 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes, and a medium complexion.
