David Pietz, a Seattle man, was found guilty of the murder of his wife, Nicole Pietz, according to local reports.

A King County jury handed down the guilty verdict on Monday afternoon, reported KOMO.

He was found guilty of second-degree murder.

Nicole Pietz’s body was found dumped in a wooded area near Burien seven years ago. As KING-5 reported, police could find no direct evidence to tie him to the murder.

David Pietz always said that he was innocent in his wife’s death. But prosecutors said that he told different stories about the night his wife disappeared.

The prosecution also claimed that Pietz had made statements that he was a partier and his wife wasn’t.

His attorney said that there was no direct evidence tying Pietz to the murder.
