BENBROOK, Texas—Police say that two girls have been found dead inside their Tarrant County home along with their injured mother, who suffered stab wounds.

Benbrook Police Cmdr. David Babcock said officers responded to a 911 call shortly Thursday morning and found the children and their 31-year-old mother inside the home in Benbrook. The woman was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth and underwent surgery.

The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified the children as 5-year-old Nika Kholodenko and 1-year-old Michela Kholodenko.

Babcock said the cause of the children’s deaths has not been determined, but they were not stabbed and had no visible physical signs of injury.

He said that a suspect has not been determined, and that there were no signs of forced entry at the home.
