Wang Ran, a postgraduate student who gave up her U.S. citizenship to return to China, is suppressed by the local government because she exposed her father’s persecution online at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party. She and her brother have been summoned, detained, and tortured by the police. With both of her parents already in custody, the family is devastated and destroyed.

Wang Ran is a 30-year-old postgraduate student majoring in Finance at the Illinois Institute of Technology and worked at Northern Trust Corporation. She studied and worked in the United States for 8 years before returning back to China.

In 2016, she agreed to her father’s request of giving up her U.S. citizenship and returning to her hometown, Baotou City in Inner Mongolia. Little did she know, she was actually welcomed by the CCP’s tyranny.
