NEW YORK—The Dancing With The Stars finale came to a close Tuesday with R&B artist Nicole Scherzinger and her partner Derek Hough taking home the winning trophy after a season full of star-studded performances.
Dancing With The Stars ended its tenth season with a close call between a team made of figure skater Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya going up against the winning pair of Nicole Scherzinger, of the Pusscat Dolls, and Derek Hough in the final dance off.
ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were also featured on the last episode but only as the third party eliminated to determine what final pair would participate in the final dancing showdown, reported TV Guide.
Annie Barrett from Entertainment Weekly hypothesized that the Dancing With The Stars judges may have purposely overruled the crowd vote by giving exceptionally high marks to name Scherzinger and Hough the winning pair, and low marks to Lyscek and Trebunskaya. Though Barrett admits its impossible to know.
Scherzinger and Hough had a final score of 30 points beating runners up Lysacek and Trebunskaya with 28 points. Andrews and Chmerkowvskiy finished third with 26 points.
All three pairs recreated their previous Argentine tangos to determine who was to be included in the final dance off.
