Dan Clark, known as Nitro, was hospitalized for a heart attack, and believes steroids may have played a factor.
Clark said that he began experiencing intense chest pains while working out in Los Angeles on December 18, and then his left arm went numb.
He asked a friend to drive him to a nearby urgent care center, where they discovered the heart attack and put him in an ambulance, which took him to a nearby hospital.
Clark underwent emergency surgery to remove a blood clot from one of his arteries, reported TMZ. Doctors fitted him with a new stent.
Clark called what happened a shock because he believes he’s in peak physical condition.
The former “American Gladiators” star says the heart attack may stem from years of steroid abuse from his time acting in the series.
He expects to make a full recovery.
