Damien Lillard was simply terrific last night in a hectic 3-OT game — the second in a row for the Spurs, scoring a career high 43 points while sprinkling in 3 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals.
He even drew praise from Spurs coach Gregg Popovich after the game. Pop rarely compliments opposing players.
“Damian was unbelievable. He was unguardable. He just took it upon himself and single-handedly did us in. He was amazing,” said Popovich.
This speaks volumes of Damien’s play, and Lillard again solidified his reputation as one of the NBA’s most clutch players, scoring 16 of his 43 points in overtime.
Needless to say, after this performance, Lillard has again become a mainstay name in the ’top 5 point guard' lists of many fans.
