A petition that is targeted at networks for the renewal of Dallas has garnered more than 80,000 signatures.

The petition on Causes is addressed to a number of networks, including NBC, AMC, CMT, Reelz, CBS, CW, and LifeTime.

“Dear executives as a huge fan of Dallas, I sincerely hope you will consider helping my favorite show of all time get season 4 and more seasons to come!!! So many fans love this show, and there is a huge legacy that follows concerning the show,” Sara Duckworth, the petition creator, said in the petition.

“There are some fans watching the original Dallas, which they never seen before, cause of the reboot. Many original Dallas fans have been watching the show as well. Die hard fans never get tired of the Ewings and the drama so please grant our wish and help save our show!!!! I know the show’s ratings have been poor this year, but Dallas ranks among the top 5 shows buzzing on social media.

“The ratings also improve a bit when DVR ratings come in. Dallas also has the highest likes on Facebook more than any other show on TNT’s channel. Dallas Decoder has posted a link to their article on reasons why Dallas should be picked up on their Facebook page and twitter account. Some of the reasons consist of what I mentioned just now.”

The petition started a while back but has continued to get signatures and is approaching the 100,000 mark.

The petition is part of the Save Dallas campaign.

TNT announced the cancellation of the show on October 3, issuing a statement saying that “We are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga.”

Dallas star Audrey Lander recently encouraged fans.

“We want the fans who have loyal through the incarnations of the show to continue their support,” she told Globe magazine. “To help save the show we need to reach out to the original fans and get them behind the new series. I hope the producers and networks will listen to the fans who have been supportive in trying to bring Dallas back.”

Another hopeful sign is that producers already have a plan for a season 4, with executive producer Cynthia Cidre telling Entertainment Weekly that the cliffhanger, including Christoper’s death, was on purpose.

Cidre previously revealed told Entertainment Weekly that a season 4 would feature the rebuild of Southfork.

“And we’re hoping to even add a wing to it somehow in CGI. We’re going to explore that because it’s just pretty hilarious that there’s 5 billionaires living in a three bedroom house,” she said.
