Dallas Braden pitched the 19th perfect game in the history of Major League Baseball on Sunday, leading the Oakland A’s to a 4–0 home victory against the high-flying Tampa Bay Rays.
Braden faced the minimum 27 batters over 9 innings.
Braden had six strikeouts in his afternoon of work. Before pitching his perfect game, Braden was averaging 1.70 walks per inning.
Braden lost his mother to cancer while he was playing high school baseball. His perfect game landed on Mother’s Day leaving a long lasting testament to the memory of his mother.
