DALLAS—The audience at the Winspear Opera House Saturday evening, Dec. 17, greeted Shen Yun Performing Arts’ second performance in Dallas with hearty applause.

Rachel Rose, marketing manager for Verizon, attended the world’s renowned classical Chinese dance and music performance with her son. She discovered the New York-based Shen Yun online while researching for his school project.

Mrs. Rose was transported to celestial realms ancient temples and the open plains of Mongolia projected on screen that interacted seamlessly between the Shen Yun Orchestra and a dance at hand.

“Very good,” she said. “It was enjoyable to have the [digital backdrop] behind.”

Retired Art Teacher: ‘Very uplifting’

Also in the audience was Mrs. Monica Lucas, a retired art teacher who thought the production was very artistic.

“Oh, it was beautiful. Loved the costumes, and the music was wonderful,” Mrs. Lucas said.
Her husband agreed, and added that Shen Yun “had a beautiful message.”

“It was great, it was really good. And I loved the blend of the Chinese instruments and Western instruments as well,” he said commenting on the unique orchestral combination of ancient Eastern and contemporary Western composition. “We enjoyed it, we had a wonderful time.”

Mrs. Lucas said she had the feeling that Shen Yun was “very happy, very uplifting, very positive.”

Shen Yun will perform at Winspear Opera House through Sunday, Dec. 18. For more information visit ShenYunPerformingArts.org
