Dakota Fanning was voted Homecoming Queen last night at her high school, Campbell Hall Episcopal in North Hollywood, for the second year in a row.

The actress, who is also on the cheerleading squad, was photographed carrying a bunch of roses with her Homecoming King, both draped in sashes.

Fanning rose to fame at the age of seven when she starred in I Am Sam with Sean Penn in 2001. The role led her to become the youngest nominee for a Screen Actors Guild award.

The 16-year-old has already built a successful acting career, including starring roles in the 2005 remake of War of the Worlds and also Charlotte’s Web.

More recently, she played Jane the vampire in the Twilight movies New Moon and Eclipse, and now Breaking Dawn.

Fanning was interviewed on the Today Show in June and explained the importance of her high school experience.

“I just think everyone always looks back on that time in their life,” she said. “Who was homecoming princess and [did] the cheerleading ... and all the things that go along with high school? And I wanted to have that.”

“I’m really lucky that I found a school that allows me to do both,” she said.
