For those of you who may not know, a Puffin is a bird that is fairly common in Europe, and fairly rare here in the states. As a result, they are characterized by their oddly shaped beaks, and their funny appearance. As a result of this, they tend to be a favorite among the natives, but also among tourists who have not seen such odd looking birds before.
And that is what this video shows. This video shows the bond that one puffin has with one tourist. While the man is sitting down, photographing his surroundings, a puffin comes up close to him, and starts looking around. The tiny little bird look at his bag, and even climbs under his leg.
This is fascinating for most people, given the fact that more the most part, birds and other wildlife try to stay as far away from humans as possible. So to see a bird just walk up to a human and even interact with them is something that you are not going to really see all that often.
The tourist was amazed, so he captured the whole thing on his camera. The bird later flies off, but this is a bit of a heartwarming story of how sometimes, animals trust humans.
Given that most animals have a reason to not really trust humans, it is understandable why they don’t. But when you see something like this, it just goes to show that if we treat them correctly, animals can learn to trust us and stay near us more often. And saying how people should be getting closer to nature due to its health benefits, it is good to see some humans not freak out when a bird gets too close.
