CHIAYI, Taiwan—Mr. Li Yi-Ming, president of the Cultural Foundation of the National Huwei Institute of Technology and president of the List Gasoline Co. Ltd., attended Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company’s matinee performance at the Chiayi Performing Arts Center on April 4. After the performance, he said, “As Shen Yun has been a world class performance, I would like to recommend Shen Yun to people from all walks of life.”
New York-based Shen Yun travels around the world reviving the 5,000-year-old, divinely-inspired Chinese culture, a culture that was nearly decimated by communist rule in China, according to the company’s website.
At the heart of a Shen Yun performance is classical Chinese dance, an ancient system that is both one of the most comprehensive and one of the hardest to master in the world.
Seeing the Shen Yun performance for the second time, Mr. Li said, “Shen Yun’s program helps people to understand the relationship between their own lives and the universe. What’s more important is that Shen Yun has employed an artistic form to help people understand this relationship. As people living in this global village, we are supposed to make every effort to return to the heavenly world, and Shen Yun happens to tell the world’s people of this.”
He urged, “Shen Yun should be further promoted to the entire world.”
“The belief in gods, in fact, is the essence of Chinese culture, and Shen Yun is spreading these kinds of values. Shen Yun is, therefore, the glory of the Chinese people, and Shen Yun can help Chinese culture be promoted on the world stage,” he added.
“Those who understand Shen Yun should endeavor to support it, as Shen Yun will have a great positive impact on China,” Mr. Li said.
Mr. Li was deeply moved by the program The Dafa Practitioner’s Magical Encounter, which depicts a Falun Dafa practitioner’s response to persecution in China and where divine retribution is received by those who try to take him down. Mr. Li noted his support of Falun Dafa, a traditional spiritual discipline, and he hoped that more people could come to understand Falun Dafa.
