Corinne and Anne Dechauffour have been identified as the two French victims of the attack at Westgate mall in Nairobi, Kenya.
Corinne, 50, and Anne, 27, were shopping with Corinne’s husband when gunmen entered the building.
Anne was the head of marketing at Leopard Rock Lodge in Kenya, according to her LinkedIn page.
Anne was also often in London, pursuing a career in modeling, reported the International Business Times. She wanted to be a top model “like Gisele Bundchen” she told the agency in a recent interview.
“I just learned that a friend Anne Dechauffour [died]” in Nairobi... Anne rest in peace! May PEACE & LOVE spread around the world...” said Mi Kwan Lock via Facebok.
Corinne was a sculptor who traveled between France, London, and Kenya.
Nice Matin, a French news agency, reported that the pair were attacked in the parking lot of the mall, and were among the first killed in the attack.
“Two of our compatriots were cowardly attacked; it was carried out in the parking lot of the mall where they came to do their shopping” Ms. Conway-Mouret, a French deputy minister, said on the television channel BFM-TV, reported Nice Matin.
Several family members flew into Nairobi after hearing the news.
The total death toll in the situation has increased to 72 and is expected to increase more as more bodies are recovered.
