Cop fired 8 times: A Florida police officer who has been fired eight times from several departments, was accused of leaving behind his AR-15 rifle with the father of his girlfriend, meaning that he might get fired another time.

The Opa-locka Police Department said that leaving behind his weapon is a serious problem and presented their case to fire Sgt. German Bosque in front of an arbitration officer earlier this week, reported CBS Miami.

“We’re here on a very simple matter,” city attorney Joe Geller told CBS Miami. “It’s going to be up to the arbitrator. We think what the officer did was wrong.”

CBS noted that Bosque is the most fined and disciplined officer in Florida.

The Miami Herald notes that police departments fired him because he beat up juveniles, called in sick while on vacation, falsified reports, stole from suspects, had dope and alcohol in his car, and other offenses.

Bosque’s attorney said that the AR-15 was in good hands because the father of his girlfriend was a security guard.  “Anyone can legally purchase this weapon,” his attorney told CBS.

“This is not your buttons aren’t shining. This is not your shoes weren’t polished. This is not you did not snap the salute crisply ... This is an assault weapon capable of firing multiple high-velocity rounds,’’ Geller said, according to the Herald.

Andrew Axelrad, an attorney for a local police union, told the Herald that police violated Bosque’s rights and were using the incident as a reason to fire him after repeated media coverage.
