It’s been just over a week since Conor McGregor was upset by Nate Diaz at UFC 196. Naturally, McGregor hasn’t forgotten what went down and is already hoping for a rematch—especially since he clearly won the first round over Diaz. Watch McGregor’s comments to TMZ, as the fighter shops on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, on the Diaz match and the potential rematch here:
“I think I’d like to see that. It’s one that interests me most certainly,”said McGregor regarding a Diaz rematch. “You know when I look at the fight, I was winning the fight. I won the first round and a half.
“I’d love to get that one back. We’ll see. We’ll see how it goes. Life is good.”
McGregor fell in the second round to Diaz via a rear naked choke. The match, which was the main card to UFC 196, helped make the pay-per-view event the most successful in UFC history.

A rematch is possible but McGregor likely won’t fight again until UFC 200, which is scheduled for July 9 in Las Vegas. McGregor likely would be fighting to defend his 145-pound title at that time.
Besides, a rematch would need to be agreed to by Diaz, and he doesn’t seem too interested in it at the moment.
