The governor of Connecticut is slated to visit tornado-hit areas Windsor and East Windsor after Monday, which destroyed a sports dome and damaged other property.

NBC Connecticut reported that Gov. Dannel Malloy will visited the impacted areas.

It was reported that the EF-1 tornado was spawned in a storm system that swept through the region.

The tornado also ripped up trees, tore down power lines, and damaged tobacco netting, according to the Hartford Courant.

The tornado also turned over a box truck near a Walmart in East Windsor. Another truck was also reportedly turned over on I-91.

According to the Courant, the National Weather Service said the tornado touched down near Hayden Station Road in Windsor.

“Within 10 seconds a very heavy rain started,” local Kathy Russotto told the Courant. “I went into the dome [and] whistled for the kids.”
