Company $100 bills: An Illinois company that celebrated its 100th anniversary gave out $100 bills on Thursday, the 100th day of 2013.

The owners of ILMO Products Co. in Jacksonville, Ill., gave each of its employees $100 when they showed up for work, reported the Jacksonville Journal-Courier.

“It’s not really a life-changing amount, but everyone was happy and appreciative and knew how special it was — and that meant a lot to [the owners],” ILMO spokeswoman Blair Dial Austin told the paper. “We think turning 100 is kind of above and beyond and is something really unique and deserves to be celebrated,” she said.

Workers expressed gratitude and were generally elated when they received their bills, the paper said. In all 97 employees got $100 bills, and the company handled the taxes.

“Our employees are our most valuable asset,” said company President Tony McLaughlin, according to KPLR-11. “So, we had to do something special.”

Diistrict sales manager Pete Mankowich described the gesture as “pretty neat,” and added that the company cares so “much about the people that work for them to give money out of their pockets,” according to the station.

He said that ILMO shows a great amount of respect towards their employees.

ILMO, which specializes in making industrial, medical, and laboratory gases, has 10 offices around the United States.
