Thank you for Irene Luo’s and Jan Jekielek’s article on “Sebastian Gorka on ‘The War for America’s Soul’”. It reaffirmed all that I have long felt about so-called progressives and how the progressive vision seems to assume that humankind can be perfected and that the apparatus to endow that perfection is the government. A more ludicrous assumption I can hardly imagine; not so much for the perfection of mankindwhich I do seriously doubtbut that government is capable of perfecting anything beyond the consolidation of its own power through the usurpation of liberty and the waging of wars. In light of the fact that of all the varied forms of government instituted since the dawn of recorded history, none has managed to change human nature, it says to me that the progressive vision is simply a better-dressed power grab through the politics of envy and elitist arrogance. It’s just another vicious lie dressed in a beautiful dream.
