As if Chrissy Teigen needed any help telling naysayers off, she got backup from comedian Desi Lydic on the May 9 episode of “The Daily Show With Trevor Noah.”

When Teigen and husband John Legend enjoyed a dinner out at West Hollywood’s hotspot The Nice Guy on April 23—only two weeks after the birth of their daughter—fans reprimanded the supermodel mother for leaving baby Luna Simone at home.

“That spotlight pull be strong,” wrote thepowerchica on Instagram when photos of the married couple surfaced online. “One week. Who wants to leave a one week old baby to go to a bar?”

Another commenter, Bronzebeauty79, wrote: “She’s hitting the streets already???? Damn these so called celebrities want to show off so bad after giving birth. Spend bonding time with your baby and not let the nanny or babysitter raise them!”

Teigen responded with several tweets of her own: “I went to dinner. People are pissed. Good morning!”

Don’t worry Teigen—comedian Lydic has an answer for those who judge mothers and their style of parenting.

“You’re worried about the quality of John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s child care? It’s not like they’re getting their nanny off Craigslist. They’re rich celebrities,” said Lydic. “They could get Mary Poppins to watch their baby, as in literally call Julie Andrews, get her to come out of retirement to babysit in character as Mary Poppins.”

The skit was a hit with John Legend who tweeted his approval.

Lydic ended the skit with a message to critics and mothers.

“We are all just doing the best we can. You wouldn’t even believe the crazy that moms have to deal with,” said Lydic. “Moms, I know its tough. But you’re doing fine no matter what people say—you got this!”
