COLUMBUS, Ohio—Shen Yun Performing Arts returned to grace the stage of the Ohio Theatre on Friday April 27, astounding audience members with a vivid display that was hard to describe in words. “It was very different … very memorable,” said Donald Jameson, GE Director of Marketing.
His wife, Patricia Carey, a retired teacher, agreed, and said, “The dancing was exquisite and the costumes are just sumptuous.”
According to Shen Yun’s website, every costume in a Shen Yun performance is presented with brilliant colors, and every detail is given meticulous attention representing different eras in China’s 5,000-year-old history.
The couple enjoyed immersing themselves in traditional Chinese culture, and appreciated Shen Yun’s performances of story-based dance that feature values of China’s ancient culture, which are relevant today.
Ms. Carey explained that the couple treated themselves to tickets to the New York-based show as a Christmas gift. “We each wanted to give each other tickets for Christmas and it was well worth it,” she said.
Through the performance, Mr. Jameson sensed the spirituality that was traditionally part of classical Chinese culture, and said, “Very, very good. I think [that] aspect of the program is marvelous. Peace, harmony, divine, acceptance and cooperation … that’s the message I received from this program tonight.”
