Colorado Springs is experiencing more flooding as a flash flood warning has been issued on Sunday, September 15.

The warning is until 4 p.m. MDT and could be extended.

Floods have hit Colorado hard over the past several days, leaving hundreds stranded and killing at least six.

Pictures shared by residents show flooding in multiple areas of the city.

The National Weather Service estimates that one inch of rain has already fallen over El Paso County today and another inch is possible as storms move east.

“It’s a good time to stay inside if possible and stay off streets,” said Mayor Steve Bach via Twitter.

The warning doesn’t include the Highway 24 corridor or the Waldo Canyon burn scar. A separate flood advisory has been issued for the East Pikes Peak Burn Scar through 4:30 p.m.

Barricades are going up throughout Colorado Springs, including at Shelton and Santa Rosa, according to police scanner traffic cited by the Colorado Springs Gazette.

Flooding in the city has dealt extensive damage to at least two roads--Gold Camp Road and Cheyenne Road--and prompted evacuations of multiple businesses.
