CNN’s Twitter account appeared to get hacked by the notorious Syrian Electronic Army on Thursday night.

The group of pro-Syrian regime hackers has targeted a range of news organizations over the past few years, including the Associated Press.

The army sent out a tweet that said: “Syrian Electronic Army was here ... stop lying ... all your reports are fake!”

At least seven tweets were sent out during the hack.

At one point, several were deleted, but then more were posted.

CNN acknowledged the hack, saying through its public relations Twitter account: “Some of our organization’s social media accounts were compromised. We have secured those accounts and are working to remedy the issue.
