Angela Rye, a CNN commentator, said she has been “thoroughly traumatized” by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) after she was pat down during airport security.

“I was just thoroughly traumatized by the TSA,” Rye said in a Periscope video that was posted this week. She said that the TSA agent grabbed her in an inappropriate place.

“I’ve been randomly selected maybe three times in my life. Even if they think this is OK, it’s not. I’ve never been a victim of unwanted touching until today. I literally started crying while this was happening. It’s not right,” Rye said.

Rye added that she had asked a police officer to record the interaction so she could then send it to the TSA for a review.

In an article she later wrote for CNN on Dec. 22, Rye said she’s been searched by the TSA before, but “this time, it was different.”

She added: “The backscatter machine alerted to my right Uggs boot, three areas near my vagina and I think somewhere on my back.”

“I didn’t care about anything but one place on my body. I said in complete disbelief: ‘You know you aren’t patting down my vagina, right? Like that’s NOT happening,’” she continued.

Rye then said she argued with the agent and her supervisor before threatening to file a complaint.
