Although CM Punk quit the WWE, he will be back.

The question of his return is when, not if.

Referencing reports that CM Punk was angry over his contract, namely that he was going to go another year without being booked in the WrestleMania main event (Royal Rumble), Bleacher Report says that Punk will recover as he and WWE negotiate.

“A professional athlete walking out on his or her contract is often an inexcusable sin worthy of getting its sinner blacklisted. But in pro wrestling, blacklists simply do not exist. It’s only a matter of time before cooler heads prevail.

“Once a wrestler’s star becomes a certain size, there is next to nothing they can do to that will ban them from working with WWE. More likely than not, we have not seen the last of CM Punk. His star is too big to fade. As has been the case since his near exit of 2011, he'll be back on his own terms.”

Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline (via Wrestlezone) said that Vince McMahon reportedly wants Punk back, though Triple H has mixed feelings about a return.

Punk was slated to face Triple H at WrestleMania XXX.

Sources originally told TMZ that Punk was livid when he learned that Batista was scripted to win the Royal Rumble, when Punk feels that Batista isn’t in great wrestling shape and shouldn’t be featured in the Rumble.

Punk feels he’s earned the right to be in the Rumble and wanted to be in the title match.

Punk’s contract is up in July.
