Ex-baseball player Jose Canseco, who had one MMA fight against a seven-foot-tall Korean kickboxcer, said that he wants to fight CM Punk.

Punk, who last week announced he would fight in the UFC, has been called out a number of times, including by “Green Ranger” Jason David Frank of the “Power Rangers” TV show.

“I can beat the crap out of @cmpunk. I am ready @ufc,” Canseco said on his Twitter page.

Obviously, the fight is a long-shot. Canseco fought as a heavyweight and he weighs about 240 pounds. Punk plans to fight as a middleweight (185 pounds) or welterweight (170 pounds.)

Meanwhile, featherweight contender Conor McGregor--who himself has generated considerable buzz in recent months--talked about the CM Punk signing.

“CM Punk? I don’t know,” said McGregor, via BloodyElbow.

“Listening to him speak, when I heard the broadcast announcement I saw a man afraid. Like he signed up for something he didn’t want to be. When the shin bone cracks the body or the elbow cracks or the heel cracks... It doesn’t get much more real than that. Personally, I don’t think he should be in this league just yet, but again, you bring asses to the seats, you bring eyeballs to the screen and we will give you a shot,” he added.

Punk himself admitted there’s uncertainty about fighting MMA, as he doesn’t know where he'll train, hasn’t ever really sparred, and is a white belt in jiu-jitsu.

Meanwhile, Punk’s wife AJ Lee recently did a match during TLC on Sunday night in Cleveland.

According to WWE.com:

AJ Lee was also tended to by physicians after a scary incident in which Divas Champion Nikki Bella blinded her with an unidentified spray.

“She suffered a chemical conjunctivitis,” Dr. Stephen Daquino told WWE.com. “We were able to flush her eyes with a saline solution.”

The quick treatment helped prevent any long-term damage to AJ’s vision.
