AJ Lee, the former WWE Divas champ, gave her response to her husband CM Punk, or Phillip Brooks, joining the UFC.
Punk made his announcement Saturday night during UFC 181, saying he’ll compete at either middleweight or welterweight.
“I am the proudest wife in the world,” she wrote along with a photo of her husband at a UFC press conference.
“Thank you @danawhite & all the girls & guys at @ufc for being kind & welcoming…and letting us take prom pics,” she also wrote on Monday. “And now I fly to Raw. Because Mama has to pay the bills, too. #slammyawards,” she then said.

Regarding Punk’s move to join the MMA promotion, he said, “This is my new career, 100 percent. I’m going to go full steam ahead, all systems go after today, and it’s going to be fun.”
The UFC said he’ll make his debut in 2015. No date was listed, although there has been speculation hat he’d fight on the Fourth of July card next year.
“He wanted to fight here,” White told ESPN on Monday. “He wanted to give it a shot, so we gave him an opportunity. It’s not like Brock Lesnar. We’re not going to throw the kitchen sink at him. Lesnar had a wrestling background. [CM Punk] is going to fight a guy who is 1-0, 1-1, 2-1 — something like that.”
Punk, 36, noted that “my professional wrestling days are over, it’s awesome to be here.” “I felt like it was now or never. I have a limited window most fighters don’t have. I’m either here to win or get my ass kicked.”
