CM Punk and AJ Lee both opened up on social media about being married for six months, despite the two not really talking about it ever.
Punk, who quit the WWE in early 2014, took to Twitter on Thursday.
“Been married to an angel for six months now. Since neither has maimed the other, lots of our friends owe us money. Pay up suckers!” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Lee added: “@CMPunk And to think 2 years ago you were bro’ing me on tv…also define ‘maimed’.”
Punk, whose real name is Phillip Brooks, has also been using his Twitter account to promote AJ’s merchandise but under the name AJ Brooks.
The comments come as promoter Paul Heyman praised Punk during a network special.
“@smFISHMAN I praised @CMPunk LIVE ON RAW in Chicago when he and @WWE had just parted ways. #BITW Now, Then, 4ever!” he tweeted to clarify.
In more Punk news, he’s also writing a Thor comic book for Marvel
“And I wound up talking to [Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief] Axel Alonso and it was always kind of like, ‘Yeah, yeah. We’d love to have you do something! We’d love to have you do something.’ And you know, I was always just so busy. I think I just pestered all the right people and the right things kind of popped up. How exactly it came up, I can’t really, exactly remember. I can’t remember who said, ‘Hey. Wanna do Thor?’You know what I mean? That pretty much blew my mind. I have to say, it’s been a long process,” he said, via Marvel.com.
He added in saying “I think Marvel Method might be easier to grasp if somebody’s never written a comic book before, so I’m kind of leaning towards that. I think it helps that I picked [an] artist who I was already friends with, and can speak freely to. I think he’ll get it, you know what I mean? I think the e-mails that we’ve sent back and forth now regarding the story, you could probably print. I just think they’re entertaining. “Hey, what if we do this?” and it turns into the next big e-mail chain. It’s hilarious.”
