A weird cloud seen from the ISS is reportedly actually a contrail from a Russian missile launch.

NASA astronaut Mike Hopkins first posted a picture to Twitter saying: “Saw something launch into space today. Not sure what it was but the cloud it left behind was pretty amazing.”

Italian astronaut Luca Parmitano posted a different perspective of the same “cloud.” They are both currently on board the International Space Station.

According to the Russian news agency ITAR-TASS, the Russian military launched a test missile on Oct. 10, and supposedly that’s what Hopkins and Parmitano saw.

The launch was from Kazakhstan.

“A missile launch seen from space: an unexpected surprise!” said Parmitano.
