Cliff Lee may get a seven-year deal with the Washington Nationals, fresh off their signing of Jayson Werth for $126 million, according to the New York Daily News.

The Daily News quoted an inside source, who said that Lee, the 2008 AL Cy Young winner, could be pried away from the Texas Rangers and go to Washington.

However, several other reports have said that Washington is not looking for Lee’s services.

The Washington Post reported that the deal is “not happening,” according to an insider.

Another insider told the Post there is “zero chance” Lee is coming on board.

Lee’s agent Darek Braunecker told the Post that the Nationals are “not eliminated” from taking a shot at offering the 32-year-old southpaw a contract.

Nationals manager Mike Rizzo told MLB.com that the club was looking for a capable pitcher during the offseason, but said Tuesday that making the deal come to fruition seems like a long shot.
