“Clerks III” is a reality, says director Kevin Smith, who said the movie will get made.

Smith had said that his last film will be “Somebody,” but he apparently wants to do another “Clerks” movie--20 years after the black and white film was bought by Miramax, essentially launching his career.

While in Utah last week, Smith was asked at a “Clerks” 20th anniversary screening if the third film is ever going to get made.

“I was like, ‘You know, I’m going to be on the stage talking about Clerks at a midnight screening, it would be awesome to announce Clerks III, so let me know.’ And they haven’t let me know,” Smith said, according to Wired.

He added: “I’ll say right now we’re going to start making the movie April 7. It’s either going to be them backing it or somebody else backing it. It’s definitely happening, though, for sure.”

The final film will likely put an end to the movie characters’ story arcs, meaning that Jeff Anderson and Brian O’Halloran will reprise their respective roles as Randal and Dante.

“Clerks is a movie about being in your 20s, Clerks II is a movie about being in your 30s,” Smith said. “And Clerks III is a movie about being middle-aged right on to the end.”

A few days ago, Smith announced that he has plans for a Christmas-themed horror movie called “Comes the Krampus.” He plans on making the movie in 2014.

“It’s 99 pulse-pounding pages of what’s essentially SModCo’s CREEPSHOW, with four terrifying tales stitched together by a freaky framing device. It was a blast to write and totally new to me, as I never actually wrote a screenplay WITH someone else before,” he wrote in his blog.

“And now, to extend the spirit of collaboration even further, I'M GONNA CO-DIRECT THE FLICK WITH THE SMODCO FAMILY! Andy McElfresh will direct the ‘The Krampus vs. The 3rd Grade’ episode (SO f***ed up), Jason Mewes (yes - THAT Jason Mewes) will direct the ‘Hitler’s Krampus’ episode (twisted period piece),” he added.
