Those who love watching movies in the holiday season are invited to tune in to a nonstop festive film marathon that starts from Sept. 10.

The Sony Movies Christmas channel will be launched more than 16 weeks before Christmas Eve, showing Britain’s most loved festive season movies 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Formerly known as True Christmas, the channel is promised to ensure even the most die-hard Christmas moviegoers have enough programs to keep viewers watching until the end of Jan. 2.

The schedule is expected to include many holiday classics like “Elf,” “The Polar Express,” and “Christmas With the Kranks.” The channel will also premiere “Holiday Road Trip” and “Silver Bells” among others according to LADbible.
The Sun recommends preparing a handkerchief or tissue box for every evening as a wide selection of emotional movies will be shown from 7 p.m., including every title from “All I Want Is Christmas” to “Moonlight & Mistletoe.”

There will be specially themed weekends that cater for Christmas Comedy, Christmas Animals, Santa Sunday, and “Bah Humbug” lovers.

Sony also promises a variety of fresh and never before seen content that is promised to deliver a pleasant surprise while people install their Christmas tree and decorations according to The Sun.

“Santa and his elves aren’t the only people working hard from now until Christmas,” Sony Pictures Entertainment said in a statement obtained by Digital TV Europe. “Sony Movies Christmas channel has been working its stockings off to ensure there’s enough Christmas content to keep you in a seasonal mood right until the big day and beyond.”

The announcement came as the company announced it would become the United Kingdom’s first free-to-air movie network through combining Sony Movies, Sony Movies Action, and Sony Movies Christmas.

“Free TV is changing are you ready?” the Sony Movie Channel said on Twitter. “On Sept. 10, Sony Movies, Sony Movies Action, and Sony Movies Christmas arrive.”

As part of the changes, the Sony-owned True Entertainment will be rebranded as the Sony Channel. Sony Movies Classic will launch in January 2020 according to Digital TV Europe.

The Sony Movies channel will be broadcast on Freesat 303, Freeview 50, Sky 319, and Virgin 424.

“Because really, when isn’t a good time to gift yourself a little festive cheer?” Sony Pictures said.
