Comedian and actor Chris Tucker is in trouble with the taxman. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has reportedly filed the documents to collect back taxes worth $11.5 million that Tucker failed to pay in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006, reported ContactMusic news.
In addition to the above, the actor also has a tax debt of $3.6 million with the state of California.
The IRS has brought his case to the Los Angeles County Recorder’s Office with the hope to retrieve the unpaid taxes.
TMZ.com recently reported that the star sold his house in Florida for $2 million, despite paying $6 million for it three years ago.
The Rush Hour film series, starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker helped Tucker to rise to fame in the last decade. Tucker reportedly made $20 million for each of the three Rush Hour films he starred in as Detective James Carter.
