Chris Pratt praised God during an acceptance speech at the Teen Choice Awards.

Pratt and actress Bryce Dallas Howard both won awards for Choice Summer Movie Actor and Choice Summer Movie Actress for “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.”

“I want to thank God. I always do that when I’m up on a big platform in front of a bunch of young faces. I say ‘I love God. That’s my thing. I love him. And you should too,’” said Pratt.

Pratt said Howard was working in London and couldn’t be at the awards show, before she showed up on a screen via broadcast feed, and greeted her fans.

Pratt expressed his spiritual beliefs on stage while accepting a different award, back in June. Pratt talked about God, and then prayer, during a longer acceptance speech for the Generation Award at the MTV Movie & TV Awards.

During that speech, he gave his audience “nine rules from Chris Pratt, Generation Award winner.” Three of the rules were overtly spiritual, the rest were about being a person of good character and helping others.

At last year’s Teen Choice Awards, Pratt said “I would not be here with the ease and grace I have in my heart without my lord and savior Jesus Christ.” He was there to collect an award for Choice Sci-Fi Movie Actor for playing Star-Lord in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”

Pratt told Esquire in 2014 that he came upon religion while waiting for somebody to buy him and a friend alcoholic drinks as a youth in Hawaii. Pratt was too young to buy them himself. He said a man approached him and asked what he planned to do that day, then offered him something different.

“He was like, ‘I stopped because Jesus told me to stop and talk to you. He said to tell you you’re destined for great things.’ My friends came out, and I was like, ‘Hey, I’m gonna go with this guy,’” Pratt said, via Esquire.
Pratt is set to return for a third “Jurassic World” movie as well as a third “Guardians of the Galaxy” film. “Jurassic World 3” is set to be released June 11, 2021. According to Cinemablend, this date accords with the franchises three-year release cycle.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” was set for a 2020 release, but there are still some conflicts with the movie. Fired director James Gunn had already written a draft script, so there would be legal problems for producer Disney if they chose to use any part of Gunn’s story without crediting him, Screen Rant reported. Gunn was fired after some of his controversial tweets resurfaced.
Pratt is also appearing in voice-only roles for “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part,” scheduled for release in 2019, according to IMDB.

Another comic book-based movie Pratt was scheduled for has reportedly been put on hold indefinitely. “Cowboy Ninja Viking,” based on an Image Comics title, was scheduled for a June 28, 2019, release date. Problems on the set have sent the movie back into development so it will not begin production in mid-September as originally planned.

The movie, when or if it comes out, is set to star Pratt alongside Priyanka Chopra. The script has not yet been completed. The studio had hoped to get the movie made before Chris Pratt left to work on “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” Deadline reported.
