The Los Angeles City Attorney will file charges against singer Chris Brown for a criminal hit-and-run, CBS Los Angeles and TMZ reported Tuesday.
TMZ reported that Brown has had two criminal charges filed against him by the city attorney in connection with an accident in May.
Brown allegedly rear-ended a Mercedes and did not give his license number while providing fake insurance information.
As a result, TMZ reported, the City Attorney charged him with a hit-and-run because he left the accident without providing the right information.
He was also charged for driving without a license.
After news of the alleged hit-and-run emerged, a source close to the “Fine China” singer said the allegations against him were baseless.
“Chris was fully cooperative. He pulled over at the scene and gave the woman his correct insurance details,” the source told The Mirror in late May. “He has tried to contact the driver to confirm the right information following the allegations. Unfortunately, it would seem she has gone off the radar and isn’t responding to his attempts to resolve the situation.”
