PITTSBURGH—Choir Director Clark Bedford said he was “very impressed” by the live orchestra of the Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company after attending opening night at the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts in Pittsburg on February 1.
The orchestra, which combines both Western instruments and traditional Chinese instruments, provides accompaniment to the company’s Chinese classical dance performance.
“Spectacular from the very beginning!” said Mr. Bedford of the performance.
Mr. Bedford completed his postgraduate musical training at prestigious institutions, including the Julliard School of Music in New York and at the London Opera Centre in England. LaRoche College awarded Bedford an honorary doctorate in 1998. He now serves as church organist and choir director at Christ Church in Fox Chapel, Penn.
He also praised the performance company’s dancing.
“The precision is amazing,” said Mr. Bedford, who brought his granddaughters with him.
Mr. Bedford said he would recommend the show to his coworkers.
