TAINAN, Taiwan—Before the Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company held its fourth performance at the Tainan Municipal Cultural Center on the afternoon of March 10, 2012, it was hard to get a ticket, as all the tickets were sold out beforehand.
Among the audience members was Dr. Shou-Jou Cheng, operator of the Cheng-Shou-Jou Chinese Medicine Clinic, who attended the performance along with her son. She said, “Shen Yun performance is very inspiring for children.”
“Different from ordinary performances, Shen Yun Performing Arts’ performance is a very beautiful and harmonious presentation.”
“After seeing the performance, my son also said that it (Shen Yun) is great. He felt that it is very inspiring for his soul,” said the Dr. Cheng.
In view of the fact that Shen Yun’s performance is the presentation of strength and beauty, Dr. Cheng said that “The scenes on the backdrops were like Chinese paintings. The entire backdrops seemingly had the effect of extension, which made the entire scene overwhelming.” She added that judging from the scenes on the backdrops, people could imagine that the production process was tremendous.
Deeply moved by the essence of the 5,000-year traditional Chinese civilization, and the characteristics as well as the values of the traditional Chinese culture, Dr. Cheng added, “As I majored in Chinese medicine, I can tell that what is performed by Shen Yun Performing Arts is something belonging to that Chinese and it can move people.”
Commenting on the colorfulness and harmonization of the colors displayed in the performance, Dr. Cheng said, “I felt very comfortable during the entire process of appreciating the performance.”
