WASHINGTON, DC—Mr. Wang Xudong, a member of the Chinese Ministry of Information delegation traveling in the United States with Chinese Vice-Premier Wu Yi, was served with a lawsuit on the afternoon of May 25, 2007.

The suit, filed by Falun Gong adherents, is an effort to bring Wang to justice for crimes he has committed against Falun Gong during the eight-year persecution campaign in China.

Wang had previously been sued under the provisions of the Alien Tort Claim Act and the Torture Victims Protection Act while attending the third China-U.S Telecommunications Summit in Chicago in 2004.

Reportedly to avoid another lawsuit, Wang’s name was left off the published Chinese itinerary for this trip.

Mr. Wang was formerly the Communist Party Secretary of Hebei Province
