US Government Blacklists China’s Biggest Nuclear Company

The U.S. Department of Commerce has placed China’s biggest state-owned nuclear company on its Entity List, according to an announcement on Aug. 14.

China General Nuclear Power Group (CGNPG) and three of its affiliates—China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGNPC), China Nuclear Power Technology Research Institute, Suzhou Nuclear Power Research Institute—are now banned from buying parts and technologies from American firms without special U.S. government approval.
