President Donald Trump on Dec. 2 said that recently enacted U.S. human rights bill backing Hong Kong protesters doesn’t make trade negotiations with China easier, but that he’s confident the country still wants to make a trade deal.

The legislation “doesn’t make it better, but we'll see what happens,” Trump said while talking with White House reporters while departing for a NATO summit in London.
