President Donald Trump on Sept. 9 urged European Union officials to impose tariffs of up to 100 percent on China and India, saying the move would put pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin, a source familiar with the matter told The Epoch Times, corroborating an earlier report by Reuters.

China and India have helped keep Russia’s economy afloat since its expanded invasion of Ukraine began in 2022, ramping up purchases of Russian oil even as most countries reduced or cut off imports.
