Hong Kong-born Chinese Canadian Member of Parliament (MP) Jenny Kwan Wai-ching recently confirmed to the media that she was briefed by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) that she had become a “target” of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), presumably due to her criticism of the CCP.
In an interview with Canadian media, The Globe and Mail, a few days ago, Jenny Kwan revealed that CSIS had briefed her earlier, saying that she had been targeted by the CCP as early as 2019 because she spoke out for the human rights situation in Hong Kong and Xinjiang. But for security reasons, she could not reveal further how she was on the CCP’s radar.
