On June 22, the Nikkei Asian Review—a Japanese news media company, reported that a member of the Chinese Communist Party Standing Committee, Tam Yiu-Chung, revealed that all elected candidates must support the Hong Kong National Security Law, or else they may be disqualified. Members of Taiwan’s Legislative Yuan criticized the CCP for violating and changing their agreements with the people of Hong Kong.
