Chinese Leader Makes Rare Move to Remove 12 Ambassadors

Just days after the fifth plenary session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Chinese leader Xi Jinping declared a new wave of removals and appointments for ambassadors.

On Nov. 5, Xi replaced 12 Chinese ambassadors. The countries involved include: Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Sao Tome and Principe, Guinea Bissau, Belarus, Armenia, Hungary, Cyprus, and Trinidad and Tobago, according to China’s state media.
